I GOT TROUBLES
Excellent acting brings the story alive. Kevin McKim’s understated Willy and Ellen Bienenfeld’s charming Eileen add natural compassion, while Jody Bardin contributes humorous kvetching as the Jewish flight controller. Lareen Faye brings fire as the passionate Bessie. Donelan serves as a steady center for the production. - Mary Mallory, Tolucan Times
THE YENTAS WEAR RED HATS
The bored over-60 Women’s Basketball League team (the Yentas) form a Red Hat chapter after their season ends. The coach Craig (Art Shulman) romances player Tess (Ellen Bienenfeld). Bienenfeld’s sweet understated Tess brings a nice grounded touch to proceedings while Seflinger’s ditzy Janice serves as comic relief. Suzan Solomon’s hot to trot Trudi animates every scene she appears in. - Mary Mallory, Tolucan Times
THE DEMENTIA VOTE
The ensemble understands the intended farcical style of the piece and creates intentionally exaggerated caricatures that indulge the sinister stupidity of the cast of wacky characters. Jetta Juriansz’ old man and unwitting celebrity Bruce is wacky good fun. Ellen Bienenfeld nails the comedic timing of horny hillbilly Uncle Jack. - Dana Martin
